Publicly funded housing programs are a contemporary and humane solution to the housing challenges our city faces. Our residents are the lifeblood of our community—our neighbors, friends, and coworkers. For many, BHA is the difference between home and homelessness. We empower vital communities to improve quality of life, encourage self-sufficiency, and create economic opportunities.

Our youth program will be offered to BHA residents (public housing and Section 8) as well as members of the surrounding communities. We aim to create opportunities that empower our young residents to explore pathways for their future, including education, workforce development, and work skills. Our target demographic will be residents ages 14-21. We will collaborate with YEO and other city departments and local organizations to provide resources and facilitate workshops on topics of interest for our youth.

- Plan and execute activities for younger children. Activities can include arts and crafts, recreation and sports, computer club, and more.
- Ensure children are following behavior expectations for center and stay safe for duration of activity
- Support the planning and execution of ad hoc youth events like movie nights, cookouts, and field days
- Participate in civic engagement and city beautification activities efforts of the Boston City Youth Corps
- Conduct outreach in the community through flyering, phone calls, and door knocking to ensure that young people and their parents know about activities and events at the center
- Conduct cleaning and organizing of the center to ensure it is usable for programming

- Currently enrolled in high school, post-secondary education, or a GED/HiSET/Alternative Education program.
- Must be a current resident of the city of Boston. Preference will be given to BHA public housing or Section 8 tenants.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be computer literate.
- Must be organized, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
